Trinity ELC will offer a course called “Christian Caregiving – a Way of Life” beginning Wednesday September 13, 2017. The 10-week course will explore caring for one another and how it can be uniquely Christian. Participants will practice caring skills and learn how to make distinctively Christian caring and relating a way of life.
Led by Pastor Tim Graff and Mr. Kent Kramer of Trinity ELC, the course is based on the book Christian CAregiving – a Way of Life by Kenneth Haugk, a pastor and clinical psychologist who is the founder of the Stephen Series system of lay caring ministry. Dr. Haugk’s book examines the theology, psychology, and practice of distinctively Christian caring. The course at Trinity ELC will emphasize practical application of caring skills to special situations and everyday relationships.
The course includes such topics as:
- God as the Curegiver
- Move Over, Freud!
- Ministering to the Whole Person
- A Surprise Gift: Forgiveness
- Tools of Your Trade: Their Use and Abuse
- Hope-Full Caregiving
Beginning on September 13, 2017, the class will meet ten Wednesday evenings between September 13 and November 29.
The registration deadline is August 31. The cost of the course is $30, but will be waved for anyone in financial need. The course will be limited to 15 participants so please register early. The course is open to all.
