Parliament to Vote on Canada Summer Jobs: Write Your MP...Our Federal government enacted a policy that meant that in order to receive funding support for summer youth jobs, a charity would have to agree to the governments position on abortion and LGBTQ issues. Religious charities are seeking to overturn this on March 19. We are being encouraged to contact our MP’s to have them support the following motion: That, in the opinion of the House, organizations that engage in non-political non-activist work, such as feeding the homeless, helping refugees, and giving kids an opportunity to go to camp, should be able to access Canada Summer Jobs funding regardless of their private convictions and regardless of whether or not they choose to sign the application attestation. Update…Please continue to hold Shawn and Ronalie C. in your prayers. Shawn continues to wrestle with illness and hospitalization. Heavenly Father, you are indeed good to us. Your mercies are new every morning. And yet our brother Shawn is in the wilderness of illness. Lord, as he cries out to you, deliver him according to your good and gracious will in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. Amen.
