This is what I gleaned on my journey today. Look at what God calls you to and leave the rest for someone else to enjoy. Peace be with you.

Updates…Myra R. is home after surgery. The best way to support Myra at this time is to take Adolf out for a visit/coffee. Margaret E. is doing well after her surgery and hopes to be home Monday.
Movie: I Can Only Imagine…I watched it last night. It is an emotionally charged movie about the pain of abuse and the restoration of a father-son relationship made possible by the father’s background conversion. God and Jesus are a mainly a sidebar in this movie. Forgiveness is the key theme but was connected to God and Jesus in a rather subtle way. The lyrics of the song are a product of the writer imagining himself in heaven with Jesus, but the gospel of forgiveness is nowhere mentioned. The movie is typical of many Christian movies today, playing on the heart strings without a clear and strong message centered in the Gospel of Christ crucified. It is a movie best viewed by ages 12 and older.
Should a child witness child birth?…A humorous response.
Death, resurrection and immortality…Does the Bible teach that man has an immortal soul, which Christ died to save, and that, when a Christian dies, his soul goes to a blessed life with God? and: Does the Bible teach a physical resurrection of our flesh? A Lutheran response.
Prayer Requests…Linda S. is going to an appointment Monday to discuss thoracic surgery. Please pray for peace and wise counsel for her and safe travels to and from the appointment. Also Alice T. broke her leg this week. Pray for her healing and patience through this time of recovery.
