“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!“ – Luke 1:42
Yesterday, we heard these words read. Although Mary is considered blessed, the focus here is not on Mary, but on the One who blesses and who has come as the blessing (the fruit of your womb).
This week we finally arrive at that day we call “Christmas.” Yesterday, the children acted out the Christmas story. Although the children are always cute in their portrayal of this event, the focus of the event is not on them, but on the One they pointed to.
We will arrive for the Christmas Eve service this Thursday at either the 4 pm or 7 pm. We will gather with family and friends, but where will our focus be? Will we hear God’s Blessing this evening or will we be caught up in the events later that night or next day?
Blessed are those in whom Christ is born; who repent of their sins and who trust in the Christ who was born to die for the sins of the world. This is the blessing of Christmas.
Merry Christmas and in case you missed Sunday’s message or would like to listen again please follow this link.
