Bringing the hope of God’s love

healing-handsThis coming Tuesday (Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre Auxilliary) and on the fourth Thursday (Northcott) of the month I hold a half-hour worship service for the residents of these two facilities.

The services consist of singing, some prayers, a couple of Scripture readings and a very brief message. These people enjoy the music, but it is the message of God’s Word that is most important.

Like you, these people need to regularly hear that in the midst of their brokenness and the death that hovers just around the corner, God still holds onto them and us. Through Christ’s life, death and resurrection we have forgiveness of sins despite our brokenness, new life in the midst of dementia and disability, and everlasting life even though death surrounds us.

I go to these facilities by myself, but I would welcome your presence there too. Not only can you help turn the pages of the song books, but you can also be signs of God’s gracious presence for these people.

If you would like to join me please check the calendar below. The service at the Auxillary begins on Tuesday at 10 am.
