The Porcupine’s Dilemma – Part 1

porcupine dilemmaHave you ever been involved in a group event where the leader asked you to share what kind of animal you would like to be?

I’ve heard people mention many types of animals, but one I’ve never heard considered was the porcupine.

Porcupines are actually beautiful animals. Most people only see them as roadkill, but when we first moved to St. Albert I had the privilege of following one down the street on an early morning walk.

Yes, they’re amazing animals, but not the animal you’d want to get too close to.

The other thing about porcupines is that you can’t change who they are. They are prickly on the outside with soft underbellies (forgive me for sounding like a wolf here).

This Sunday we begin a short two week series on “Friendship: The Porcupine’s Dilemma.” How do we make friends with people who perhaps like us, have all those quills? Are they any weirder than those of us who consider ourselves wolves, cats or cows?

Come and join us for what may be a less than normal adventure.
