Some of the best memories people have of the church is when they are together eating. Whether it’s a potluck meal, the Easter breakfast or our more recent “Family Sundays,” we love these opportunities to be together around food. We refer to these times as “fellowship.”
“Fellowship” is defined as the friendly association of people who share common interests. Food is certainly one of them.
So what makes the fellowship we experience at the church different from what we may encounter at Tim Horton’s, the Drop-in Centre or the local hockey arena?
This Sunday we’re going to explore this fifth movement of the Spirit and how Friendship, Foundations, Forgiveness and Faith lead us to a deepening sense of “Christ-centered” Fellowship.
Until then, I want you to think about the first book/movie in the series Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. The Christian author J.R.R. Tolkien helps us understand the nature of Christian fellowship in this book.
The following trailer will give you a sense of this.
