I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. – John 10:10
I’ve often heard eulogies at funerals that describe the deceased as “living a full life.” What this normally means is that the person who died did a lot of stuff.
Isn’t that what most of us are currently doing: a lot of stuff? Even in retirement people describe their lives as busier than ever. But are we truly at peace and filled with joy of life in the midst of that busyness?
During the Flavian dynasty of the Roman Empire the Caesars built a massive Colosseum to host varies forms of gruesome entertainment. They did this to distract people from the problems going on around them.
I sometimes wonder whether our busy lives are a means of distracting us from the deep problems we face.
God would like to invite you to face those problems by living life with him. Come explore that possibility this week as we worship, study, reflect, pray and live together.
