Yesterday I sent out an article on a key Lutheran teaching: Law and Gospel. If you enjoyed that article please read Cap Stewart’s second article in this series: What’s Law Got to Do with It?
“IT” is again the topic of Sunday evening’s monthly Ponoka Worship Night. We will be exploring the topic of biblical community and what it takes to have one. The event is being held at Sonrise Christian Reformed Church and will include an integrated worship team and tag-team preachers.
This Sunday morning we have our last “Family Sunday” worship before the summer break. This week we will be welcoming two adults through baptism and affirmation of baptism. The message will look at “What is Baptism?” from a child’s perspective (with adult implications). Lunch will follow so don’t miss the fun.
The ladies will be meeting tomorrow morning (10:30) for Bible study at Trinity and all are invited.
Looking ahead to next week:
- Tuesday (7 pm) – Worship Planning for everyone interested in putting their fingerprints on worship next fall.
- Wednesday (7 pm) – Missions meeting…come and hear about our extended mission field.
- Saturday – Members of Council and I will be heading down to Medicine Hat for our first Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ meeting. I will officially be interviewed and hopefully become certified as an LCMC pastor.
So that’s some of the excitement happening at Trinity ELC. I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday and encourage you to participate in God’s kingdom mission wherever you find yourself this week.
